will enchanting support the new released EV3

Postby tigerdad » Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:45 pm

I am thinking about purchasing the new released EV3, but not sure whether Enchanting can support it or not, any one has the idea, if not, will it plan to support EV3 in the future, any time frame?
Thanks.

The EV3 will not be supported by Enchanting any time soon, I'm afraid.

Google/MIT App Inventor offers something similar to Enchanting, but it seems that they also only support NXT for now :(

There are a number of changes I'd like to make for Enchanting, and I'm sitting down at the drawing board, working on them. I plan to support the BrickPi first, but I will order an EV3 as there is so much interest. I do not expect a version of Enchanting for the EV3 any time soon; I imagine it'll be several months.

Prior, I only had one installation issue on Windows 7: I got this message "Lego Mindstorms NXT Driver 1.1.3 for x64, Already installed with higher version" (paraphrased).

Hi Elena.

I have not done any work towards making Enchanting work with the EV3.

I've decided to step back and focus my efforts elsewhere. I'm pursuing the idea that if I can replace my income (such as by making and selling phone apps, instead of working at an hourly rate for the best hours of every day), then I'll have more time to work on projects like this that really matter to me. (I'm also spending some more time with family and pursuing other interests).

I wish I had more time to put into this.

Cheers,
Clinton

Hi Elena.

I'm afraid it is unlikely.
