Auto run Java program after startup?

Postby brickinthecloud » Thu Nov 14, 2013 6:57 pm

Is there a way to run a Java program on startup?

I'm not that familiar with Linux, but imagine there is some startup script I could place the usual command in?

You have to ....

create init script (other scripts placed in /etc/init.d dir)
place this file in /etc/init.d dir
ecetute

Code: Select all
update-rc.d {name of your script file without full path } defaults

sometimes you have to do another command

Code: Select all
update-rc.d {name of your script file without full path } start 80 2 3 4 5 . stop 20 0 1 6

or

Code: Select all
update-rc.d {name of your script file without full path } enable

Then you can test your script:

Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/{name of your script file without full path } start

If everything goes well you can restart EV3 by command

Code: Select all
shutdown -r now

Above sequence without testing .
