Bootable image on MAC?

Postby trichalo » Fri Dec 20, 2013 11:20 am

I am in the process of building the SD Card on my Mac. I'll be creating a post on how I did it but at the moment I got stuck with the bootable SD Card. I seem to be missing something. Surely I have to create some boot record or will simply doing "sudo cp uImage "/Volume/LMS2012/uImage" be good enough? The first attempt seem not to recognise the SD as bootable...

How does the brick boot fro the SD Card ? Is it similar to the USB boot on a PC? If so, surely I need to have some boot record copy or something.

Any assistance appreciated ...

The SD card needs to have two partitions on it the first must be DOS the second (and possibly further ones) Linux. The boot loader simply loads the Linux boot files from the first DOS partition. The actual loader is built into the EV3 flash image and so does not need to be on the card.
