RMI registry and policy

Postby ruperty » Tue Aug 12, 2014 9:15 am

I am looking to write some RMI classes.

I note via netstat that there is a rmiregistry service running, is this the registry I should use, and is it running on the default port of 1099?

Is there an existing security policy to use?

Does the jrun application take care of any additional paranmeters required for using RMI?

I managed to bind my rmi code to the rmiregistry by hacking the manifest file of EV3Menu.jar, to add my jar to the classpath.

Is there an easier way of doing it?

There is not a better way of doing this at the moment. You could set up a different registry to the one that the menu uses, using a different port number. If you have any suggestions on what EV3Menu could do to improve this, please let me know.
