Lost With Ubuntu

Postby Xpyd3r » Sun Nov 04, 2007 8:26 pm

okay so I'm trying to follow the read-me that came with the lejos, and so far i downloaded the libusb thing and tried to configure but at the end it says

robotics@robotics-laptop:~/libusb-0.1.12$ ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... no
checking for mawk... mawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1
checking for style of include used by make... GNU
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.

so I'm clueless with that but I did make the 70-lego.rules and got it into the rules.d folder if that makes a difference...

also right now I'm playing around with the paths here and so far I think I'm getting that[/quote]

You can simply fetch libusb with apt-get. I believe this is all you need in order to make a clean compilation, no additional setup necessary (of course you need the environment variables to actually use the executables):

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install libusb-dev gcj libbluetooth-dev ant libc6-dev

There is a longer Linux thread here.

Thanks so much now I'm getting a build failed for 65 and 135 whatever those are... I'm going to try what they have on the other thread to see if that will work for me...
