limited number of resets?

Postby bfredo123 » Mon Dec 03, 2007 10:01 pm

Hi,

I am new to NXT, and terribly attempted to install leJOS on it.

However I have read on this forum that someone read that one should not reset the NXT more than 100 times.

Is that really true ??
What happens if I reset the NXT more than 100 times? does it explode? does it auto-destroy?

Also, could you please confirm that the procedure to restore the original LEGO firmware is this one:
1) connect the NXT to the PC via USB
2) turn the NXT on
3) press the RESET button on the brick
4) "update" the firmware from the Lego Windows software
?

Many thanks for your help,

that should work as long as you hold the reset button until it starts ticking. Worked for me.

Its somewhat of an unconfirmed rumor that there is a certain number of resets. I've heard both sides argued quite persuasively. Clearly there is a limit to the amount of times memory can be modified. I personally think the limit is much more than 100 though.
