Image processing project.

Postby ryainad » Mon Feb 07, 2011 12:58 am

I liked a project about image capture!!! And I want to implement it!

Could anybody provide me some source about it (where can I find information) and how to make it. The main ideas and key source about it. If it is possible.

And one more question: do I need to buy books or I can find all source online?

And I want to learn as much as I can! I have some experience in Java programming. I'm a beginner in Lego, but not in Java. (I did few courseworks)

I have not bought camera yet, I'd like to know what is better and cheaper and how to get it.

I found some information about video traking, but it is needed additional software, as I understand.
I dont think that I will need it. But Wireless camera is cheaper than NXTCam-v3. I'd like to know can I use it?

Thank you!

There are more details of my project here:
viewtopic.php?t=2028&highlight=nxtcam

This project uses the NXTXam V3 and makes heavy use of this version having replaceable firmware. The updated firmware I use is available from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/nxtcam/
Note that working with the NXTCam firmware is pretty tricky and you can end up with a non working camera (I did and had to resort to a hardware jtag interface to fix it). So if you are not comfortable with working at this level it may be best not to go this route. If you are interested then make sure you look at the following projects:

For a more advanced (non Lego) version that may also provide you with some inspiration take a look at:

Thank you for information! I will try to implement it, but it looks terribly!!!

Anyway, I hope I will do it. At least, it is better to know that I did everything I could, than afraid and don't touch it at all ... :)

Best regards!!!
