NXJ Bluetooth - Perl Net::Bluetooth-Communication

Postby potschi » Wed Oct 10, 2007 10:54 am

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to let my NXT communicate to my notebook via Bluetooth. The NXT runs with leJOS 0.4beta and on my notebook, there should be running a perl script.
Now I'm having problems while connecting the NXT to my notebook. What I am trying is:

1. open a Perl-Bluetooth socket on the notebook
2. connect the NXT via Bt and the NXTSocket-class

The connection is not established. I don't have any idea, why this doesn't work. The NXJ-API is some kind of incomplete concerning Bluetooth-Connections.

Is there someone out there who already has some experience concerning this topic or some hints.

Greetings and many thanks...

Does the Perl Bluetooth script work with the standard Lego firmware?

Not all PC Bluetooth tools and APIs currently work with leJOS NXJ.

I didn't try it with the standard firmware as the NXT HAS TO run under leJOS. NXC is not suitable for our purpose.

Trying it with the standard firmware would show if it a problem with the Perl Bluetooth script or the leJOS NXJ Bluetooth code.

If you give me a reference to the Perl Bluetooth module you are using, and your script, I might get a chance to look at it.
