Installation Problems

Postby Mangus » Thu Oct 25, 2007 1:52 am

Hi. Here's my problem. I followed all of the tutorials that i could find on
installing Lejos on my computer for use on an NXT brick. I did all of the environment variables and whenever i try to run lejosdl, nxjflash, or lejosfirmdl command prompt gives me the error: 'lejosdl' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. This is after i type C:\>lejosdl . I am sure that there is a simple fix for this and i am too dumb to know how to fix it. Please Help!!! Thanks.

Have you set your PATH variable to include C:/lejos_nxj/bin (or equivalent)?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I did that and it is still giving me the same stupid error message. My bin files are in C:\java\lejos_nxj\bin. Could you tell me what to put for the environment variables? I am new at this kind of stuff and still quite stupid. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_02 is where my JDK is. Thanks!!

Add these variables:
JAVA_HOME:
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_02\

NXJ_HOME:
C:\java\lejos_nxj

Add this onto ur PATH variable:
;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_02\bin;C:\java\lejos_nxj\bin

Just a note, Magnus, it is more "up to date" to use nxjc and nxj (and NXJ_HOME) rather than lejosc, lejosdl and lejosfirmdl. You can still use those other names and it will work, but I recommend the new commands.

Type:

PATH

and then

dir %NXJ_HOME%\bin

and then the command you are trying to run.

Cut and paste the results and post them to the forum, and we should be able to see what is wrong.
