Please Help!!! flashing problems!

Postby Xpyd3r » Thu Nov 08, 2007 2:22 am

If I browse inside /dev/bus/usb/002 i can see a little icon that disappears when I unplug the NXT and reappears with the next consecutive interger as its name, so that MUST be the NXT, and i already built lejos... I just have no idea how to flash or upload to the NXT and I've been working on Lejos for a few weeks now just trying to get a program on it PLEASE HELP Many thanks!!!

Have you read ALL of the documentation?

IF by documentation you mean the little read-me that the linux version of lejos includes, then yes, otherwise no. I didn't really understand what I was doing with the read me but I did the little rules.d thing in udev but have no idea if thats actually even working. Any thoughts?

Have you restarted udev after creating the rules file?
Code: Select all
sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart

Did you create a ‘lego’ group and did you add yourself to it?
Code: Select all
sudo addgroup lego
sudo adduser USERNAME lego

Did you log out and log back in afterwards?

Okay, so, I have my rules called 70-lego.rules and in it, there is this code
# Lego NXT
BUS=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="03eb", GROUP="lego", MODE="0660"
BUS=="usb", SYSFS{idVendor}=="0694", GROUP="lego", MODE="0660"

Then I restarted Udev made the group and added my username to the group exactly how you said to,

made my path java and nxj paths again, then typed in "nxjflash" and this comes up

robotics@robotics-laptop:~$ nxjflash
NXJ_HOME is /home/robotics/lejos_nxj
Setting fmcn to 50
Checking VM /home/robotics/lejos_nxj/bin/lejos_nxt_rom.bin ... VM OK.
Checking Menu /home/robotics/lejos_nxj/bin/StartUpText.bin ... Menu OK.
NXT not found. Is it properly plugged in via USB?

So Im at a loss, its the same message as before so I guess Im going to restart the computer then try it all again, but any other ideas would be helpful
