Well, is the path to ejre-7u21-fcs-b11-linux-arm-sflt-headless-04_apr_2013.tar.gz correct? In doubt, specify the absolute path. In your case, the absolute path seems to be
/root/Desktop/lejosimage/ejre-7u21-fcs-b11-linux-arm-sflt-headless-04_apr_2013.gz

For some reason, the file ending is .gz and not .tar.gz. You renamed the file by accident?

hi

i realized that it was just .gz after i sent question. I am trying the network by creating a network in the mac. I will have to wait till i get the wireless connector to test it. when do you think the usb is going to work? it booted up fine but no ip address because i don't have a wireless connector, right!

thanks

hi
i was able to connect. i change the wpa file in the ect folder without redoing the sdCard.

now i am in the remote systems part of eclipse. when i try to connect a window that says

system type ssh only
host name 192
name ev3
user id parallels
password optional

once i say ok no matter what i input and click on any of the folders in the EV3 are i am asked for a password and it doesn't work.

also in the java section all the files have red and have errors. will this go away once i connect to the ev3. the files were from the git

Why does the EV3 have a user parallels? and a password? The normal setup is to use user root, with no password. Have you added an extra user to the EV3? Are you running this on a Mac by any chance? No idea if that will work.
