Can the EV3 act as an NFS server

Postby Aswin » Sun Sep 15, 2013 11:03 am

Hi,

I would like to map a directory on the EV3 to a windows drive. I looked around a bit but I cannot find much info on this, although I saw Andy make a reference to NFS. Is this possible? Any pointers?

Hi Aswin,

this week, I was reading something about BusyBox development so If BusyBox has a module about NFS Server, maybe EV3 could be used in this way.

There seems to be a Windows NFS client. It is possible to make the EV3 an NFS server - but the needed tools may not be included in the leJOS SD card image. Dokan SSHFS might be an alternnative.
Update: oh and the kernel modules for NFS server may also be missing.

Not sure if the EV3 can be an NFS server. It can certainly be an NFS client I use that all of the time. If you are using a Linux system (even in VBox), then you can setup an NFS share in that and get to it from the EV3 (which is what I do).

The latest, running on Windows. I assume you know that when I say VBox I mean VirtualBox (as described in the EV3 Wiki setup).
