Bluetooth Comm Preview

Postby bbagnall » Fri Aug 04, 2006 6:15 pm

A preview of the NXT Bluetooth communications is available for insiders (i.e. no web page announcement). The readme file has some instructions for setting things up and Test.java shows how to makes a few calls to motors and sensors:

Feel free to post your experiences here. I understand RXTX works for Unix and Macintosh, so if anyone wants to make some setup instructions for those platforms it would be appreciated.

iCommand 0.2

Another version of NXT Bluetooth API is available here:
http://www.lejos.org/iCommand_0.2.zip

For now, the package name is icommand as I'm not sure if this will eventually be part of leJOS NXT or reside on its own. This version contains classes for directly accessing sensors, motors and a few other things in an easy way that is similar to leJOS:
NXT myNXT = new NXT ("COM6");
myNXT.MotorA.forward();

This release also has some package names and a jar, and some Java docs which can also be viewed here:
http://www.lejos.org/icommandapi/

As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.
