Threads Tutorial - Compile Error

Postby don » Fri Oct 18, 2013 1:26 am

I've been working through the leJOS tutorials and I have found them very helpful. (There are a few errors in some of them but so far I've been able to sort them out.) Unfortunately, I've hit an error that I can't seem to solve. When I try to compile the Threads example on http://www.lejos.org/nxt/nxj/tutorial/L ... Events.htm, I get the following error messages:

$ nxjc Indicators.java
Indicators.java:17: error: package StartUpText does not exist
StartUpText.g.drawString(" ", 76, 0);
^
Indicators.java:19: error: package StartUpText does not exist
StartUpText.g.drawString(ioProgress[ioIndex], 78, 0);
^
Indicators.java:25: error: cannot find symbol
StartUpText.g.drawString(" BT", 82, 0, !StartUpText.btPowerOn);
^
symbol: variable StartUpText
location: class Indicators
Indicators.java:25: error: package StartUpText does not exist
StartUpText.g.drawString(" BT", 82, 0, !StartUpText.btPowerOn);
^
Indicators.java:26: error: package StartUpText does not exist
StartUpText.g.refresh();
^
5 errors

I have defined "NXJ_HOME=/home/don/leJOS_NXJ_0.9.1beta-3" and $NXJ_HOME/bin contains bin: StartUpText.bin and StartUpText.nxd

It is probably something trivial but how do I tell the compiler where to look for StartUpText?

Thanks
don

That code is not intended be compilable out of context. The example was taken from the code of the start menu, which is a complex program.
