Postby flct » Tue Dec 17, 2013 10:55 am

Hi all,

Here http://www.lejos.org/nxt/nxj/tutorial/A ... ndroid.htm, we can read that android app can use LCP (without installing firmware) to control nxt brick. Is it also possible with ev3 brick ?

That Android App won't work with EV3 running the standard Lego software as LEGO have changed their communication protocol very considerably.

However, it has a chance of working with an EV3 running the 0.5.0 version of leJOS as we run an emulation of the NXT LCP protocol in our menu program. However, the current LCP emulation is not very complete.

Lego have an Android App called the EV3 Commander that works with their EV3 software.

There is an Android App in our repository that uses TCP over Wifi, rather than Bluetooth serial comms. It does not do much at the moment.

I don't know if we will ever support the new LEGO Communication protocol in leJOS on the EV3 or in our client applications. It is hard to support without implementig all of the LEGO virtual machine.
