Once the .jar files for ev3classes, DBUS, d* can they be then given to students to use for developing projects? Just trying to set this up for more than a single development system easily as it is not a clean structure especially for beginning students.

This is only an alpha release, so things are not that easy to set up. Most programs do not use dbusjava.jar (unless they use Bluetooth).

You should normally just need ev3classes.jar and an ant build file to create programs as a runnable jar file and copy them to the EV3.
