NXT and Zigbee

Postby jgiacomo » Wed Apr 30, 2008 12:56 pm

Hi everybody.

I'm a young French trainee (I work for a laboratory) and my aim is to add a Zigbee sensor (for example, I have to make a Zigbee remote control to navigate on the Menu, or to drive a robot). For that, I've downloaded the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXt Hardware Developer Kit.

After having seen the schematics, It remains some questions in my mind:

--> Do you think that's is easier working with I2C protocol or with RS435 ?

Apparently, LEGO has not developed any devices that need high-speed communication functionality. So, I2C is surely easier to use compared with RS435.

Am I wrong ?

Thanks for any answer.

Have a nice day. 8)

leJOS does not support the RS435 interface, nor is anyone working on this at the moment. I would recommend that you use i2c as the interface to your custom device....
