Has anybody tried or seen a Java application which can run in cell phones with camera and BT and stream videos over BT to iCommand?

The hard part with this project would be to find a piece of software that runs on your mobile phone and allows it to stream video to your PC. So Google is your main hope here.

As far as I can tell, Bluetooth wouldn't have the bandwidth required to stream video unless it was really grainy. If you can find a piece of software that transforms your mobile phone into a wireless video source, then you could theoretically use the Vision package in iCommand.

It's possible!

Many mobile devices support a limited JVM. It can run midlets, which are mobile applications.
If you're interested, here is a tutorial on bluetooth comm in java midlets.

This project may be easier to write in a native language, such as C++. Native languages offer low-level control, which you might need to stream video.

Good luck :)

Hi,

I think that it is possible to upload images to a website or a local server without any problem with JavaME. Surf on internet, in many forums explain some techniques.

cheers
